Faith & Action for Your Miracle

Did you know that God is moved by our faith in Him and through acting on it we can start the process for our miracle!

Today I’d like to talk to you about a part of faith that most Christians either forget about or try and overlook all together, Action behind your faith.

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:17 (NIV)

It seems that a lot Christians have forgotten some of the basic principles of believing in God. They may have a firm foundation for their faith however, they seem to lack the action involved to see their faith come through full circle. This means we have a lot of people believing that God is going to come through for them however, they haven’t completed the necessary steps for their prayer requests, Action. For us, faith, is an action word.

The Bible is filled with examples of men and woman of God expressing their faith through their actions. There is Abraham who by faith left his homeland and took his family to a land they did not know by faith, believing God's promise (Genesis chapter 17). Noah built the Ark by faith believing, even though no one had ever seen “rain” before (Genesis chapter 6). The Bible also tells us about a woman whose faith led her to actions that would go down in biblical history as one of the greatest examples of faith in action.

Mark 5:25-34 (NIV)

25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Just imagine, this was long before any kind of modern communication, there was no phones, no internet, no Google, no Facebook, no radio and no television. This woman never saw Jesus, didn't know Him personally, all she had was word of mouth of testimonials from neighbors, friends and family about someone healing sick people.

This woman had suffered for years and had depleted all her resources, and then she heard stories about a man called Jesus, a man who was healing people miraculously in her area. Then by Faith she sought Jesus out, with only word of mouth to guide her to where He was, determined that if she could only touch the hem of His garment she would finally be healed. She pressed her way to Him, and her faith and actions were rewarded.

How can anyone know if he or she has faith unless they act on that faith. I know a man of God (Pastor) who once like Abraham, heard from the Lord. He felt lead by the Holy Spirit to leave his home and ministry in Florida and to start a new ministry in New York as a teacher of Pastors.

This takes faith to hear from the Lord and to act on it. Just not that but to leave friends and family to start something new. He took a leap of faith and acted on it!

The Lord told him “I will provide for you in all aspects including sending you a godly person to encourage you for the long trip”. Halfway there God provided just as he said and gave him companionship.

When the man of God arrived in New York, true to His promise God Sent another man of god who directed him to go to Harlem. Today he is currently pastoring, teaching and fulfilling his mission for God. This is a true story. Just like the woman with the issue of blood, the only way for his faith to be made known was by his actions, he believed God, acted, and received his blessing.

Both the woman with the issue of blood and my friend used their faith along with small steps of action for God to move in there lives. The Bible tells us without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews chapter 11) and God wants us to put our faith in action, you can’t talk faith only, you must live it!

Your miracle is within reach and all you have to do is use the faith God already gave you and put small steps of action behind it and watch God move on your behalf.

5 Bible Verses on Faith

Here are some scriptures that can guide and encourage you on the subject of faith.

Galatians 3:22 (NIV)

But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

James 1:6 (NIV)

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Mark 10:52 (NIV)

“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Mark 11:24 (NIV)

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Romans 1:17 (NIV)

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
