Keeping Your Mind on Heavenly Things
Worry seems to be at the top of our list and I do believe its not intentional. We are always worrying about our life and what is going on. Whether you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, married or divorced, kids or no kids, a job or no job and of course money. We all worry about money. This is one of the many ploys of the enemy. He has had thousands of years to come up with great tactics and schemes to get you worried and most of the time he does a great job doing it.
The reason why Satan is so successful at winning this battle is because Christians simply aren't praying and keeping their minds on heavenly things.
Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV) Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
We not suppose to worry as Christians however the majority of Christians I talk to worry alot and try to encourage them to cast their cares on the Lord and spend time with the Father. You know when we worry it reminds me of fighting. Its like we start to worry and then when we do then we are thrown into the fighting ring unprepared and get our rear ends handed to us.
If we are going to go into the fighting ring then we need to be prepared spiritually. We need to practice - praying and reading the bible, putting our spiritual armor on daily and most important spending time with our heavenly Father. That way when the enemy comes we are fit and prepared for his tactics and schemes.
1 Peter 5:6-8 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
The enemy doesn't fight fare! He is hiding and waiting when you are not prepared for him. He's been working out and getting ready to ruin your life and whatever he can do to upset you and keep you down. If he can keep you this way he doesn't need to kill you. He just needs to keep you defeated and thinking your not worth anything.
That is why the scriptures talk about spending time with the Lord early in the morning. Even Jesus spent time with the Father early in the morning.
Mark 1:35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
1 Samuel 1:19 They rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD...
Job 1:5 Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all.
The reason why its important to spend time with the Lord early in the morning it to prepare yourself for the day and what it may bring. If you start your day off right and pray then when the enemy attacks your mind to keep you worried then you know that God is your provider and He has told us not to worry about the day or anything and put our trust into Him.
Friends and partner it is time to do our morning activation prayer however before we start we need to get right before our heavenly father.
Father God we come before you in Jesus name and worship and adore you. Father God I want to be cleaned up so I can be used by you even greater and so that the enemy will not have a stronghold on my life. Father God forgive me for my sins (Share with the Lord what sins you ave committed from the most recent to the oldest to the best of your remembrance). Lord for the sins that I don’t remember I ask you to do a blanket covering and wash me clean by your blood and forgive me for my wickedness.
Father I now forgive those who have done me wrong and have borrowed from me (speak the persons name and a small description of what they get done and tell the Lord that you forgive them. You will need to do this for every person that you have held unforgiveness for. In the beginning this will take some time and I suggest that you get a pen and paper and write down from the most immediate person who hurt you and bring it all the way back to your childhood. The ones that you cannot remember asked the Lord to bring back remembrance of those who have hurt you so that you can forgive them. For the people that you don’t remember who have hurt you you were going to ask the Lord to put a blanket covering over those old wounds and heal your heart. Once the Lord brings back to remembrance then forgive them and move on.)
Father lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Lord now that I’m cleaned up and that I have forgiven those who have done me wrong I now put on the full armor of God.
Ephesians 6:13-18 CEB Therefore, pick up the full armor of God so that you can stand your ground on the evil day and after you have done everything possible to still stand. So stand with the belt of truth around your waist, justice as your breastplate, and put shoes on your feet so that you are ready to spread the good news of peace. Above all, carry the shield of faith so that you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. Offer prayers and petitions in the Spirit all the time. Stay alert by hanging in there and praying for all believers.
Father now with my armor on I am able to go into the spiritual battle field of my day and stand firm in the power of your might. Lord I lift up the Lords people along with my friends, family and enemies (Matthew 5:44). Lord I pray a hedge of protection over them as I stand in the gap for those who are not saved (Ezekiel 22:30). Father please send the Lord of the harvest (Matthew 9:38) to minister to my friends,
Activation Scripture Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
